Az idén Hall of Fame taggá választott Paolo Vitor Damo da Rosa (PV) néhány érdekes gondolatot is ír az évet áttekintő cikkében. Egyrészt mindig jó megerősítve látni, hogy mennyire gyenge volt az Avacyn Restored Limited formátum (kivéve szerintem a soulboundot), továbbá úgy tűnik, éppen annyira nem kedveli a hexproof képességet, mint néhányan közülünk:
As far as bad things, well, AVR Limited goes without saying, but I actually don’t love the direction they’re taking competitive Magic, which seems to be to minimize interaction (or at least that is the result we get). Modern, and now Standard, seem to be far more defined by whether you picked the right deck than by whether you played correctly.
This is not intrinsically bad, and I’m certain many people like it that way, but it is not my cup of tea. Cards like Cavern of Souls, Supreme Verdict, Sigarda, Host of Herons, Geist of Saint Traft, and what might be my least favorite card in Magic, Invisible Stalker (nah, that’s probably still Cavern—but Stalker is a close second) lead to pretty miserable games, in my opinion, and I wish they would stop being printed.
